The weakest link

This is King Gunfire, the father of Midnight. He was a good father and husband, but a bad leader. To begin with, his wife was caught cheating on him with Stoker so he had an affair with another woman and Myadi (a.k.a Midnight) was conceived. But the betrayal doesn't end there. One day a band of Plutarkians attacked the Firestorm palace and held his family hostage. The Plutarkians demanded that he'd hand over his empire and the rest of Mars over to them and they will let his family go. So Mars was bought and sold, murdering the king himself along with his family. Only Myadi somehow survived, but was nowhere to be found and was never heard from again.

After the murders of Gunfire and his family, a war broke out across the entire planet. Bit by bit most of the king's army was destroyed and every one of them died. Stoker, who was once in trouble with the king for the affair with his wife pulled the last remaining fighters and grabbed more men, whoever was alive. He formed his own army known as the Freedom Fighters. The war broke out in 1982 and continued for over 20 years.

As time passed, Midnight was discovered and she and Vinnie took control of the fallen empire trying everything in their power to piece things together again and create a new set of laws and new freedoms their people never had before, previously under communistic law. But after the sun sets on them and new leaders take over, will the planet ever fully recover from its brutal history of war, communism, dictatorship and bloodshed?

Unfortunately we will never know.
