Online Stalkers

hi everyone...

I got a question for you all. Has any of you ever dealt with an online stalker before? If so, how did you deal with it?

Just a couple days ago this guy finds me on Live Journal through someone else who watches me from that site. Then he added me on Yahoo. At first it was kinda cool to meet another person online and have yet another friend. Unfortunately, after a short time, things got hairy, after sensing there is something wrong with this guy, right from the very first chat.

First, he acted as if he knew me and tried to claim me as his girlfriend. Then he started spamming my LJ with comments and started bugging my friends. Then he spammed me with a billion offline messages even though I appear to be invisible to him and even deleted his name off my account. Shortly I plan on banning this guy from my Live Journal too. I never replied to none of his messages. Just deleted them.

What would it take for him to take the hint that I am NOT interested whatsoever? I'm single and kinda looking, wanting to settle down, yet I'm not desperate. I'm looking for the right guy and it will take some time. And what I hate more than anything are desperate clingy guys that leave you feeling suffocated like you're drowning.

Just what i need. Another guy like that- just like my ex boyfriend. All I want is a guy who appreciates me. Someone who respects my moral values and is willing to wait for me on sex, never forcing anything on me. Someone who I am compatible with. Someone who is willing to give me space in order to grow as a person while I do the same in return. I won't invade his space 24/7... it seems wrong. If a guy can't handle a slight challenge then he's out the door faster than he could say goodbye. I may sound strict, but crap like this made me feel as if i had to do this.

I'm done with men. I'm done with dating. Screw it. I'm better off single. Besides. I want to piece my life back together anyway.

Update: I just banned this guy from LJ- i finally figured out how to and just removed him from my friends list. Now I just need to figure out yahoo... If only they had a simple block button like AIM and msn... it would make things so much simpler. *headdesks*

All you can do is keep blocking them . If you need to change screen names on your Im programs and only IM the people you want to know your screen names.

Would the veggie Tales be Carnivores? I think so because if they were herbivores and ate vegetables that would be cannibalism.

I would have made printouts of everything, or some form of dated backups before deleting them, and given him warning to leave you alone right before bringing this up to the police. Local can't do much at first, but if it's that much and that bad, you've got thine ass covered.

Trust me, stalkers, real-life or online, have to be taken seriously by you. They don't take subtle hints as they have a serious miswire in their brains... My sister had one for YEARS, and it took him calling my aunt to finally get it to stop. She told him she had just gotten married to a German bodybuilder who was intent on killing him to get the nightmare to end... Mind, she HAD just gotten married, to a scrawny-ass little Irish boy who wanted to kill him... :)

woah... that's awful! I am so sorry that your sister had one. I've had several in the past, even my own uncle, that it's not even funny. but after awhile most do leave me alone and i was the harshest with my ex boyfriend- normally i'm laid back and easy going with almost everything!

My friend Northstar said that I could actually block people on yahoo but i forgotten how and i need to grab his screen name again and go through the whole process looking back on chat logs. and i need to learn how to ban people on live journal... his comments are getting annoying and half of them don't even make sense.

At least I got one man that i can trust and it just so happens that I grew up with him and started talking to him on face book recently. i sense strong feelings from him towards me that he has yet to bring up... time will only tell and that's fine.

It's a good thing that your sister had things worked out! if this plan don't work out then it will be police work. I just hope it doesn't come to that.

Okay, this guy sounds like a weirdo. I've had to deal with stalkers before, and mostly I block them out. But if it becomes a more serious problem, go to this website: [link] Be sure to save headers of the problem messages and if possible get an IP address.

you can't report him to the LJ staff? and yes, there's a way to block people on yahoo. but since i use trillian, i don't know what it is. >.> sorry love. i hope this all gets settled quick and clean for you. <3

i might have to. apparently he's pestering another one of my friends and she knew there was something wrong just by reading his comments as well. I'm glad i didn't fall into the same boyfriend trap like i did 3 years ago. I've gotten much smarter fortunately :XD:

i think he's schizophrenic (and possibly borderline personality) which is like a world all in itself and I usually don't have a problem with those who suffer mental health disorders since I'm a victim of depression and anxiety as well. I'm even friends with a schizophrenic at my apartment and she is a wonderful person to talk to and amazingly strong. Plus I'm going into psychology so I can become a psychologist one day.

But when i get into these types of scenarios I tend to feel very uncomfortable due to triggering memories of a recent past with an ex boyfriend. I've gotten much stricter now than I used to be with boys and if they pull stuff on me i will shut them out. it's simple as that.

As for IP address... i wonder how you get them?
